flirtatiousmischief:

Even though it had been quite sometime now since the cause for his sudden upset had transpired, that still didn’t change the fact that his guilt still clung to him, perhaps not as much as it used to, but it was still there. He was certain that he would never forgive himself for being such a coward but he blocked those thoughts out now and just listened to his girlfriend. She always knew what was best after all and he knew if he didn’t get some much needed sleep, he would only be exhausted come the next morning.

After a bit of shaking and continued attempts at calming himself down, he let out a few more sniffles as he met her gaze earnestly. He swallowed hard as he resisted the urge to allow anymore tears to flow and instead, he let her push him down to the bedding and clung onto her tightly.

“Just let me hold you. Until I fall asleep. I need to know you’re okay. That this isn’t all too good to be true.”

If he wanted her to just hold him until he’d convinced himself that this just wasn’t an incredibly realistic dream, then she’d do just that. Perhaps it might be best to do more just to speed that convincing up, but it would depend on what Kida wanted.

Burying her face into his chest once more, her voice was slightly muffled now from the fabric as well as the angle.

“I guess having me laying on top of you isn’t enough to realize you’re not dreaming.”

She was only teasing with those words, and scooting up just a little, Saki nuzzled her face into Kida’s neck and pressed one little kiss to it before her head picked up and her nose was brushing his.

“I’m fine Kida, I promise. If it was a dream, then I wouldn’t be able to do this–”

This being a gentle little peck to his lips and a quiet subsequent laugh. Perhaps that’d be enough to set his fears at ease.
