The blond heaved out a heavy but contented sigh. He never could get over how truly lucky he was. He knew full well that he could have died from his injuries at first - that was, until he came to at the hospital, realizing he had only suffered a minor head injury. And to think that he had woken up to see the love of his life right before his very eyes. He recalled how his heart started to race in that given moment. He remembered his eagerness to feel her touch once more and when he held her tightly in his arms, he knew he was finally home at long last. He was grateful to Saki. He always would be. After all, if it hadn’t been for her, he had absolutely no idea where he would be right now.
In fact, because he had grown so close to her, it made him realize that he didn’t have a need to lead a gang. Not anymore. After spending such a long time in searching for something or in this case, someone to call his home. All he had ever wanted he found in Saki. Acceptance. Love. He truly was what he would call his home. He loved her entirely. He could never dream of having a life without her by his side and it was a wonder to him that he had even made it until now without his girl around. He missed her greatly. His love was intense and genuine despite the fact that the pair were only sixteen. He knew the brunette’s feelings were just as strong for him. And sure, he would always hit on other girls but it would never be serious. He only had eyes for Saki. No one else would ever hold his heart the way she had.
He had finally been granted to have a chance at having a normal life, just like he had always dreamed of. It was all because of her and he was certain that she knew that. He was fully ready to throw away his gang life. As long as it meant he would be able to remain by her side. It was all that he wanted now, of this he was certain. He had no reason to cling to something that no longer mattered anyway. It was all done and over with. And the blond was more than ready to spend the enrity of his future with her.
Feeling the warm embrace of her arms around him once again, he slowly eased himself into her touch and kissed her forehead gently, smiling brightly as he did so. She was so warm. He wanted to never let her go. It had been far too long and he felt the need to pinch himself, just to make sure this all wasn’t a dream he was having.
“Hmm. Sounds good. I’d like that, Saki. It’ll be just like old times, yeah? And we do have a lotta catching up to do ya know. And sure. I’d like t’ know what you’ve been up to too. I’ve missed ya a lot.”
She didn’t particularly like to think about where Kida might be had she not been around, and a likely possibility was dead. Not something she cared to think about the boy she was in love with, so–
There wasn’t any point in thinking about it though. Kida was safe and sound, out of the hospital and out of the clutches of the Yellow Scarves finally, and back with her where he belonged. Life was as it should be again and they were free to actually enjoy a real relationship between them. There wasn’t that draw for him to have something to lead just to give himself some justification for his life, to actually make him feel like he was worth something. He could be a good boyfriend to Saki, be a friend to his friends, just be a happy, normal teenager. Normal was good, normal was safe.
Though there wasn’t any actual danger, Saki liked how safe she felt with Kida’s arms around her. It was a nice feeling, having someone give her attention where she was infatuated on her own accord, not because she was being manipulated or told to, but because she wanted to. She wouldn’t be letting Kida go anytime soon if she could help it.

"Well ask away then once we get there, I don’t have to be anywhere in particular tonight. Let’s go then.”
A small tug at his arm after slipping hers through his, now it felt just like old times. Only a better version of him.
