He wanted to be completely certain in the fact that this wasn’t all just something he was making up. Despite knowing that Saki was indeed right there—just as she always was, he still couldn’t completely believe that it was really true. But if she was willing to hold onto him, for only a few moments more, then maybe it would feel more real to him.
Clinging onto her a bit more tightly now, he placed his chin slightly above her shoulder, taking in deep even breaths.
“No, I guess it isn’t.”
He chuckled at her remark, knowing that she was only teasing him. He took to hugging her more and hid his face near her soft neck, ceasing when he felt a kiss reach his own neck and blinked as he brushed noses with her momentarily.
He breathed in lightly, shutting his eyes as he lazily rested his arms around her shoulders as he kissed her back deeply in return. Then her laugh reached his ears, causing him to emanate a relieved laugh of his own.
“Saki? I believe you, you know. It’s really all okay. I feel a lot better now. Should we get some sleep?”
Of course she’d be willing to hold onto him, it’d be silly and rather contradictory of her to deny him a simple request like snuggling until they both feel back asleep. It wasn’t exactly an imposition for her to do so, so all the less reason for her to say no.
Her own eyes fell shut as their lips met, and for a moment they were both silent aside from the gentle sound of their lips moving together. When they broke apart a minute later, the brunette just sleepily nodded and scooted back down slightly so that she was tucked back into his side again.
“Yeah, might as well. Even if we tried staying up we wouldn’t be able to anyway. If you have another nightmare then wake me up.”
They’d be asleep again within ten minutes, if not just a little bit longer. Now that Kida was much more relaxed and grounded back in reality, it wouldn’t take much for his body to slip back into the unconsciousness of sleep. And the same would go for Saki.
