█▒⋮♛ — A voice, followed by a gentle nudge to his side brought the youth’s attention back to the world. A momentary tense of muscles indicated his small surprise, however he recognized the voice, so that calmed his demeanor. He gazed at the girl of his memory, stained and hardened from years past and old futility in a situation that knew no blossoming reprieve. Of course, that was the past. With throat still raw from a roar of hidden thoughts, the sound of his low speech cracked from his vocal chords in chipped fragments.
“Saki,” he spoke, sincere with a barely noticeable smile. “Sorry, I was just — uhm.” Digits ran through golden locks, trying to come up with an explanation for spacing out, yet there was none.
“Got a bit lost in thought?”
The smile never left her mouth as her hand slipped into his and gave it a gentle squeeze. There was a lot Kida had been through since the two teens had met, it was only natural that sometimes his thoughts would get the better of him and he’d find himself distracted. Hopefully he’d tell her what was on his mind, she couldn’t make him feel better if she didn’t know what she was helping him work past now could she? Being a good girlfriend meant taking care of Kida, as was Saki’s nature as well.
